For assignment #9 we had to research different organizations like Plan Canada, The Salvation Army, Oxfam, and World Vision. Our class had to look at the different gifts that they had for people in third world countries. We also had to record how many gift options each organization had and what the cheapest and most expensive gift was. Each student was given $100. We had to choose different gifts that the organizations had.
Here is what I chose, from World Vision I chose to educate a girl for $60, from Plan Canada I chose to buy a soft baby blanket for $10 and a mango tree for $12, from Oxfam I chose a chicken for $15. That totals to $97. That is what I chose.
I chose World Vision because it was the organization that had the most gift options. I chose Plan Canada because second organization that had the most gift options. I chose Oxfam because it was the third organization that had the most gift options. I also chose them all because they had really good options.
The reason why I chose to educate a girl for $60 because a lot of girls can't go to school. The reason why I chose to buy a soft baby blanket for $10 because baby's need comfort and warmth. I chose to buy a mango tree for $12 because people need food and lots of people in third world countries don't have a lot of food. The reason why I chose to buy a chicken for $15 is because a chicken provides food and money, the people could sell the eggs or eat them. Those are my reasons why I chose those gifts.
That is what I would do with $100. Hope you enjoyed reading this post!!
